Three Festival Tall Ships Regatta

This weekend 26 – 28th May 2018 Liverpool welcomed the wonderful Tall Ships back to the River Mersey.

And alongside this maritime celebration, we had the Bordeaux Wine Festival the prestigious festival took place on our iconic waterfront.

The Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta links a trio of vibrant port cities – Liverpool, Dublin and Bordeaux – with some nail-biting racing across the Irish Sea and Bay of Biscay.

The magnificent masted ships created a stunning sight as they made their way up river to start the hotly-contested Regatta from Liverpool’s world-famous, UNESCO World Heritage waterfront.
This is the fifth time Liverpool has hosted these evocative historic craft in the past three decades, and during Capital of Culture year an estimated million people packed the banks of the river to catch a glimpse of the parade of sail.

There were spectacular performances, unique entertainment, street animation and live music, as Liverpool waterfront was transformed.
